

Neill K. Leduc, 77, of Dartmouth, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. He had been married to his loving wife, Amy (Blanchard) Leduc for 32 years and was the son of late Florence (Pedro) Leduc Nisbet and Herve “Duke” Leduc Jr.
A lifelong resident of Dartmouth, Neill graduated from Dartmouth High School, Class of 1965. Upon graduation, he joined the US Army and served for 14 years, both in active and reserve duty. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War and after discharge from active duty he served in the Army Reserve with the 483rd Combat Engineer Battalion at Ft. Rodman in New Bedford.
Neill worked for Brinks early in his career before becoming a Dartmouth Police Officer in 1976. After an undetected heart condition brought on an early retirement at the age of 32, he worked locally for a few organizations before beginning his 22 year career at Charlton Memorial Hospital. During this time, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Social / Health Services Administration from Roger Williams University and was a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator. He completed his career in 2010 after 13 years as the Director of Safety, Security and Emergency Management for Southcoast Health.
Neill participated in town government for years, serving on the Town of Dartmouth’s Planning Board and as an active town meeting member. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s in Dartmouth. As a long time member of the Portuguese American Social Club in Dartmouth, he served on numerous boards and committees. In the 1980s, he enjoyed singing with the choir at St. Julie’s in Dartmouth as well as singing barbershop with the Harpoon Harmonizers. Neill had a lifelong love of the ocean and spent many a summer day on Buzzards Bay boating with his family and winters in Rockledge, FL with Amy and wonderful friends. Neill enjoyed days by the pool with his family, as well.
Neill will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Amy; his only child, Lauren Leduc Lemieux; his son-in-law, Doug Lemieux; and his one granddaughter, Caroline Lemieux. Neill also leaves his brother Gary Leduc and his wife, Carol; sister-in-law Isabel Leduc, sister-in-law Marie Stringer, Lauren’s mother, Carol Coulson, as well as many cherished family and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him immensely. With his death, Neill was reunited with his parents, his twin brother, Ned K. Leduc, whom he has profoundly missed since his passing in 2016; youngest brother, Keith LeDuc, who passed in 2007 from ALS, and his brother-in-law, James Stringer.
Calling hours will be Sunday, June 1st, from 5-8pm at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. His Funeral will be held on Monday, June 2nd at 9:00am from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Dartmouth St., South Dartmouth at 10:00am. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Fairhaven, MA, where he will be laid to rest alongside his brother in law, Jimmy, with his in-laws, Conrad and Mary Blanchard nearby.
