

Raymond Lapalme, 78 of Dartmouth and Florida, passed away at home on Saturday, November 11,2023 with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Simone A. (Boucher) Lapalme with whom he shared 42 years of marriage. They shared three children, Michelle Lapalme-Oliver and her husband Raymond, Kevin R. Lapalme and Lisa Busnengo, all of Dartmouth, Ma.
A longtime resident and born in Acushnet, Raymond was the son of the late Arlette (Spirlet) and Elzear Lapalme, Jr. He was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School, class of 1964. He worked for Cape Cod Cupola and joined New England Telephone in 1966, until his retirement in 1997 where he was employed as a Special Service Technician for Verizon. Ray was a member of the National Guard, serving as a Military Police Officer, attaining the rank of Specialist 4 th Class. He made many lasting friendships while in the service.
He enjoyed his time in Florida with Simone over the last 20 years as well as family ski trips to NH and VT.
One of his greatest pleasures was coaching his son’s Mustang and Bronco baseball team. For many years, he enjoyed spending his weekends and free time restoring his Triumph TR4.
Survivors also include a brother, Ronald Lapalme and his wife Gail of Acushnet. He has three grandchildren, Sydney Hopkins, Ayden Lapalme and Alexa Rae Oliver as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Roland and Roger Lapalme.
A Memorial Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, MA 02748, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd, Dartmouth, MA 02747.
