It is always the great question of all time as to what can anyone say to a family suffering such a great loss of a great man. A man who can touch those who never known him. What can be said to the son's carrying on their father's legacy? When a man loses his father he loses a part of himself and he feels lost as he passes many stages of grief while watching the world continue on. My heart goes out to this whole entire family especially the son's of this man. The loss of a father to a son is a grief unlike any other kind. To a charismatic kindered spirited and light hearted human being Richard JR, Your father loved you endessly and uncondtionally. He wants only the best for you and to be fulfilled. May this coming father's day be filled with memories of your father's light.

Dear Kristen and Family, I know we have never met and want to apologize for not attending the wake Tuesday evening. My name is Robert J. Almeida and Richard and his brothers and family I knew from childhood. I was a friend of his brother Walter and Donald, but I remember all of them. I would like to extend my deepest sympathies and was shocked at Richards passing. He is going to be missed. I hope you accept my deepest regrets for not attending. It has been bothering me all day.

I was honored to serve under Richard in his function as a Board of Director Member for the Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District. He supported the District in going forward in a positive manner. His humor was so great. He cared for and supported the staff. We became friends and had coffee or breakfast together occasionally. The Board will definitely miss his spirit. I will truly miss Richard my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless. Hank Van Laarhoven
