

Richard M. Strozyk, 69, a resident of Berkley, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2026. Born August 3, 1956, in Buffalo, New York, Richard built a life marked by steady devotion to family, a disciplined pursuit of excellence, and a quiet enjoyment of the interests that brought him genuine happiness. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Marion (Stafford) Strozyk.
Richard earned a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from SUNY Buffalo, where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. He later received a Masters degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and was a member Beta Gamma Sigma Management Honor Society—achievements that reflected both his intellect and the care he brought to every responsibility he accepted.
Over the course of his career, Richard was known for measured leadership and steadfast professionalism. He served as Director of Operations of Ball Plant 3 at Titleist for 10 years. Prior to that, he was Plant Manager for Abbott Laboratories, working at the Buffalo, New York and Salt Lake City, Utah plants. In each role, he brought a principled work ethic and a calm, capable presence that earned the respect of those around him.
For 42 years, Richard was married to Kathleen (Marker) Strozyk, a partnership grounded in enduring love, loyalty, and shared life. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Rumschik and her husband Robert; his nephews, David Rumschik and his wife Allison, Michael Rumschik and his wife Chrisann, and Mark Rumschik and his wife Angela; and seven great nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his supportive and loving sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Johnson and her husband Craig, and his brother-in-law, Keith Marker, wife Gloria and son Brett Zigarelli.
Richard’s life was enriched by the pastimes he truly enjoyed. He was an avid golfer, and he took particular pleasure in strategy game playing both computer and board games—pursuits well-suited to his thoughtful, analytical mind. Additionally, he was an avid movie goer finding delight in the stories and worlds that captured his imagination.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 795 Dartmouth Street, Dartmouth, MA, on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at St John's Cemetery, 664 Allen St, New Bedford.
