

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Raymond and Isabel (Lopes) Lavoie he lived most of his life in Dartmouth. He was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Parish.
Mr. Lavoie worked for New England Phone Company as a lineman for 35 years. In his spare time, enjoyed BINGO, sports, his animals, and traveling. Bob was a devout Catholic who went to daily mass and often went to Eucharist Adoration in Our Lady’s Chapel downtown. He was a caring person that belonged to the Rainbow Group. He would visit various nursing homes and sing to the residents.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert J. Lavoie, Jr. and his wife Robin of MS and Eric Lavoie and his wife Jeanne of Dartmouth; four grandchildren, Ryan, Taylor and Justin Lavoie and Amanda Galavotti; three great grandchildren, Leo and Emelia Galavotti and Charlie Lavoie; a brother, Raymond Lavoie and his wife Rosemary of New Bedford; sisters, Beverly Beaudoin and her companion Robert Tardi of Dartmouth, Marlene Lamb and her companion Thomas of New Bedford, and Debbie Olden and her husband Kenneth of New Bedford, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ronald Lavoie and Carol Belli.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 10 a.m. in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt.
