Serge Joseph Forcier

Serge J. Forcier, aged 65, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 following a battle with cancer. Born on March 7, 1960, in Nicolet, Quebec, Canada, Serge immigrated to the United States in 1983. He lived in Westport and Fall River before settling in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He was the beloved son of the late Fernando and Yvette (Therrien) Forcier.

Serge was a dedicated and hardworking commercial roofer in the construction industry. His commitment to his craft was admired by all who knew him.

He was married to Louise M. (DeMello) Forcier for 42 years. Together, they raised a loving family, including their daughter, Monica Forcier, and her fiancé Shayne Cunha, and their son, Timothy Forcier, and his fiancée Deandra Lewis. Serge was a proud grandfather to Alexis, Ethan, Levi, Hayleigh, and Liam. He is also survived by his siblings Sylvie Forcier, Marie-Claude Forcier, Daniel Forcier, Raymonde Pipin, and Lynne Lauziere, as well as his brother-in-law James DeMello and sister-in-law Manuela Downing. Serge will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Claudette DeMello.

An avid outdoorsman, Serge had a passion for anything related to the great outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, gardening, and camping. In his youth, he played hockey and maintained a lifelong love for sports, with hockey being his favorite.

Serge's memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

His Funeral will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 9:00 am from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church, 233 County St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5:00-8:00 pm in the funeral home.
