Thelma S. Stone

Born in Pawtucket RI, she was the daughter of the late Walter and the late Florance M. Wilkinson and the sister of the late Eleanor Thornley.

Thelma retired from Cliftex Corporation after over 20 years of service. She was very active in her church where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the Altar Guild, and involved in numerous other church activities. She enjoyed volunteering in the gift shop at St Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. She never lost her love of cooking and the joy that her meals brought to her visitors, her family, and her neighbors.

She leaves a son, David K Sutcliffe and his wife Paula, daughters Susan Bochinski and her husband William, Nancy Lescarbeau Gomez and her husband Steven, and Lynn Blier and her husband Donald. 2 stepchildren, William Stone and his wife Gabriele and Marion Waggoner and her husband John. She also leaves many grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild due in October of this year.

She will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Funeral will be Friday, September 26th at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church 351 Elm Street, South Dartmouth, MA.

3 - 4 pm visitation, 4 pm service followed by reception in the church fellowship hall. Family and friends welcome.

On Saturday September 27th at 10am she will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Attleboro, MA with family present. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to a charity that is meaningful to you.
