Born in New Bedford, she was a daughter of Bruce C. Bates and Charlene Ann (Mello) Bentley.
She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, class of 1996 and received an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Care from Beckers College in Worcester.
Tori had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Anne’s Hospital. She also worked as a Veterinary Assistant at local animal hospitals.
Tori had a love and passion for animals and volunteered at local animal shelters. She played soccer in high school, enjoyed horseback riding, reading and sunbathing. Most of all, she loved and cared deeply for her children whom she adored.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her children, Paul Lopes, Aubrey Lopes and Savannah Lopes all of New Bedford; her sister, Kristen Bentley of Dartmouth; her former husband, Paul Lopes; her sisters-in-law, Jennifer Brum and Sandra Lopes and their children; her cats, Peanut and Trouble; and her dog nephew, Jack. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cassey Alexis Lopes.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 3-6 pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Lighthouse Animal Shelter, 596 Hathaway Rd., New Bedford, MA 02740.
