

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Walter and Catherine (Bartz) Kaczka. Mr. Kaczka lived in the Savin Hill neighborhood of Dorchester for more than 40 years, and had resided in Dartmouth since 2002.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran, and attended the Seventh Army Noncommissioned Academy in Munich, Germany in 1953.
Mr. Kaczka received his B.S. in Education from Boston State College in 1961, and his M.Ed. from Boston State College in 1972. He was employed as a Special Education teacher at Woburn High School for 32 years, retiring in 1995.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Dr. David W. Kaczka and his wife Dr. Monica L. Hawley-Kaczka of Iowa City, Iowa; a brother, William Kaczka and his wife Irene of Milford; two sisters, Katherine Swan and her husband Fred of Quincy and Helen Sellon and her husband Robert of Hanover; two grandchildren, Andrew J. and Benjamin D. Kaczka; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Barbara Christopher.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 11AM in St. Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth followed by burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
