

He was born in Newton, MA on Dec. 5, 1960 to Carol McCown Fales and the late Nathan Mason Fales. Art graduated from Westwood High School in 1978 where he was a member of the hockey team. He received a degree in Engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1982.
Art worked for Industrial Water Technology and Arion Water Systems in Massachusetts and a Pennsylvania water purification firm where he designed and implemented water systems. In 1990, he joined his father’s company, N.M.Fales Inc., a distributor and manufacturer’s representative for pump and control systems. Upon his father’s retirement, Art moved the company to Warwick, R.I. where he lived for more than a decade. In 2015, he moved to East Dennis to care for his parents in the family home on Sesuit Neck.
Art was an avid sports fan, particularly the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. He enjoyed skiing and boating and especially his time on Cape Cod. He had rich memories of his friends and family on the Cape through all phases of his life.
He was a man of a quick wit, uncommon friendliness and was always ready with a good story. He was a great conversationalist and he truly cherished his friends of whom there are many.
Art is survived by his mother, Carol Fales of East Dennis; his son, Alec Fales of Tampa, FL; and his sister, Karen Sauter of Malvern, PA. He was predeceased by his father, Nathan Fales in June and his sister, Janis Marvel in 1992. He is also survived by his niece, Sarah Marvel of Concord, NC and nephews, Nathan Marvel of Center Conway, NH and Trace Sauter of Charlotte, NC.
A celebration of Art’s life will be held on November 19th from 1-3 pm at the Dennis Inn in Dennis, MA.
In lieu of memorials, the family is requesting that donations be made in his name to the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History.
