Bill Dunn

Dunn, William V., 94, of South Dennis, formerly of Medford, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2015. Mr. Dunn was the son of the late Annie (Mahan) Dunn and Grant A. Dunn and was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Crowley and Barbara Dunn. He was the devoted brother of Catherine Kearney and the loving uncle of; Albert Kearney and wife, Anne; Mary Ellen Clark; William Crowley and wife, Evelyn; Philip Crowley and wife, Paula Kougeas and Elizabeth Crowley. He was a great uncle to Katie Kearney Abbet and husband, David; Jeanne Xantus and husband, Christian; Diana Kearney; John Clark and wife, Keri; Meghan Clark Myers and husband, Chris; Erin Clark Eskins and husband, Brian; Kevin Clark and wife, Ashley; Matthew Crowley; Kristen Crowley; William Crowley and wife, Erika; Mary Crowley and Christopher Crowley. He is also survived by 10 great-grandnieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Bill was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School and was co-captain of their first hockey team. He graduated from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. A WWII Army Veteran, he earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. His life was devoted to his church, family and friends, especially those he met golfing and in his neighborhood.

Visitation hours will be held at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rt. 134, South Dennis, on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5-8 PM. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Main Street (Rt. 28), West Harwich, MA on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Burial will conclude at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA on Friday at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Holy Trinity Church or a charity of your choice.
