Bruce T. Sprinkle

Bruce T. Sprinkle, 91, passed away on November 21, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family. Born to Raymond and Nathalie (Mandeville) Sprinkle in Camden, NJ and raised on the Cape in West Harwich with his 3 sisters, Dianne Wade of Harwichport, Beryl Wells of West Dennis and Doreen Arsenault of West Harwich. He was a graduate of Harwich High School and also graduated from Springfield College in 1952. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy in 1953 and was later honorably discharged in 1956 as a Full Lieutenant.

He was a second generation businessman running the Ray Sprinkle Company for 30 years until taking an early retirement in 1986.

Bruce was a member of the Hyannis Rotary Club as well as a Mason with Mt. Horeb Lodge A.F. for over fifty years. While on the Cape, Bruce and his wife Joan were members of St. David’s Episcopal Church in South Yarmouth.

He and Joan wintered on Sanibel Island, FL. While on Sanibel Bruce was a member of the Dunes Golf and Tennis Club for 32 years and he and Joan were parishioners at St. Michael and All Angels Church on Sanibel for over 34 years where they had meaningful, deep and fun friendships with their church friends.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joan Sprinkle of West Dennis his son Brad Sprinkle and daughter-in-law Donna Sprinkle of West Barnstable, his daughter Cheryl (Krishna) Sprinkle of Yarmouthport, his 3 grandchildren Ashley Warner and husband Michael of Scituate, Brendon Sprinkle of Quincy and Heather Sprinkle of Quincy and his 3 great grandchildren Mickey, Maggie and George.

Bruce loved living on the water and had many wonderful times boating with his family and friends on Bass River and Nantucket Sound as well as San Carlos Bay in Florida. He and his wife Joan loved to travel, enjoyed family celebrations, music and dancing, having been known to attract an audience with their Jitterbug. Bruce was an avid golfer and solid athlete. He was energetic, enthusiastic and was an active participant in everything that interested him up until the end of his life.

Bruce had a big presence and was deeply loved and admired. He will be dearly missed by his many friends & family.

Our family extends our gratitude for the compassionate care he received in the ER at CCH and the staff at the Cardiovascular Center in Hyannis.

A memorial service is planned at Saint David’s Episcopal Church for December 7th. at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please consider doing a random act of kindness.

I did not know Bruce very well but I remember when his sister Doreen would bring me to her house he was such a kind ,generous and loving brother. I know he will be greatly missed.
