

He was a resident of Dennisport, Mass. since 1995 and loved his life on the Cape and with his wife Mary “Bunny” Montanari, who passed away this past November.
Carl was born in Springfield, MA. April 8, 1918. He was a decorated World II Veteran and prisoner of war, and a resident of Holyoke, Mass., from 1950 to 1995, where he and his wife moved to Dennisport. Prior to moving to Dennisport, Carl worked for Taft Oil Company and Supervisor for Chapman Valve Manufacturing Company in Indian Orchard, MA. While in Dennisport, he was the past Commander of the local POW chapter, a very active volunteer for Disabled American Veteran activities, political action committees and contributor to several charities.
The father of two children, Carl is survived by his son Michael and his wife Carol of San Jose, CA. He was the loving grandfather of Michael and Christine.
Carl loved life and family, helping those in need, playing any card game, socializing, enjoyed playing sports, especially bowling, golf and tennis, was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fans, loved entertaining with friends and had a wonderful smile and sense of humor that could light up a room.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 18, at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis, from 4:30-to 6:30 P.M. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church, 240 Route 28, in West Harwich, MA on Saturday, February 19, at 10 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carl’s name to the Sol Amor Hospice, 123 Waterhouse Road, Suite 5, Bourne, MA 02532 or Disabled American Veterans.
