OBITUARY
Denise L. Estey
August 30, 1951 – December 27, 2020
Denise Leona (Baker) Estey, 69, of South Dennis passed away on December 27, 2020.
Denise was born August 30, 1951 to the late Tony (Florent) & Rosemarie Caron Baker in Attleboro. Denise is survived by her loving husband Stephen & her children Rebecca & her wife Cassandra Estey of Mashpee, Suzanne & her husband Derek Ashworth of Rochester & Jonathan Estey of South Dennis, her four grandsons Cole, Noah, Andrew & Griffin, her sister Jacki Baker & husband Ron Mancini of Vermont, & her brother Jerry Baker & wife Beverly of Rehoboth.
Denise, the second of three children, grew up in Plainville, Mass. and attended Dominican Academy there. Denise was raised with much love & support from her parents & siblings.
Denise met her husband Steve in the summer of ‘75. They married in October 1977 at a small church in South Dennis.
After Denise’s career at many local hair salons, Denise went to work for the Dennis Yarmouth school system as a teacher’s assistant. She so enjoyed the challenges of working with the children in various settings & helping to make them successful. Denise enjoyed anything that had to do with her kids, whether it was watching them play sports, or play in the yard. She loved being a mom. If there was anything she loved more than being a mom that was being a grandmother to her four grandsons. As simple as it sounds, Denise’s greatest treasure was & will always be her kids & grandkids.
Denise is lovingly remembered for her huge smile, even bigger heart and willingness to help anyone who needed it. She was like a second mother to many of her kid’s friends & loved to have anyone & everyone over for supper and visits. To say she will be greatly missed by all is an understatement.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Cape Kids Meals to help all Cape Cod students receive free and reduced lunches in Denise's memory. Due to Covid all services will be only family and there will be a celebration of life this fall. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.doanebealamesdennis.com

My Aunt Denise was one of the strongest and kindest people I’ve known. Her quiet strength held her family together. I will always remember her stuffing and rolls from Thanksgiving! She sent me a recipe this year and I’ll make it every year thinking of her. I’m so sad she’s gone but I know she’ll be looking down on all of us and making sure we’re doing well from where she is. Xoxo

Denise was my friend, neighbor and hairdresser and former coworker at the Wixon School and excelled at all. I was very saddened to learn of her sudden illness and quick passing. I will miss our chats and the beeps of the horn as we drove by each other’s houses.
My heart aches for her family and I will surely keep them all in my prayers. Prayers for strength, comfort, and great memories.

Deepest condolences to all the Esteys on the loss of their mom ( & wife), Denise. I had the privilege of working with Denise in my classroom for several years, and she was a caring, firm and steady hand with all students. I was always grateful that she was assigned to help my students and me.
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief and may your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together.

Working with Denise was always a pleasure. She was dedicated to her students and clearly adored her family. We would chat in the early am while waiting for the students to arrive on the bus. She had a lot of love to give and will be deeply missed. My condolences to her family and friends.

I was lucky enough to have Denise in my classroom as an aide a few times, and I really enjoyed working with her. While our loss certainly can't compare to the loss felt by close friends and family, the DY community will certainly miss her.
