Dorothy A. Labash
October 29, 1923 – July 6, 2018
Dorothy Cahill Labash, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander Labash, her husband of 62 years.
Dorothy was born and raised in Yonkers, New York, and after raising her four children eventually settled in East Dennis where she and Alexander lived happily for 40 years.
She loved all animals, especially her Maltese, Giles. He was her constant companion for 18 years. She enjoyed traveling and exploring new countries and cultures, especially trips to London, Paris and Venice. She was an avid tennis player and brilliant artist painting mostly in watercolor and oil. Admired for her green thumb, she loved gardening. In her free time Dorothy enjoyed knitting and quilting.
Dorothy is survived by her four children; Eileen and her husband, Brendan Guttmann, of Brewster, Noreen Cohen of Ayer, Thomas Labash and his wife, Linda of Peterborough, New Hampshire and Jane and her husband, Jerry Felson of Hull. She is survived by her two sisters, Honey Roach of La Grangeville, New York and Jackie Griffin of Carmel, New York; as well as 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Cape on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at 11:00am. Burial will be private.
