

Born in Quincy, MA she lived there until 1963 when she moved to Cheshire, CT then moved to Dennis and her beloved Cape Cod in 1968. Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Framingham State and a Master of Education from Cambridge College. She was the recipient of the Vocational Teacher Certification Fellowship from the Office of Education, Washington, DC and then taught Interior Design at Cape Cod Technical High School in Harwich. She also taught many classes for Adult Education.
Elizabeth was a professional seamstress of slipcovers and window treatments for over 40 years. She sewed and constructed costumes for Cape Cod Theaters and Dance Studios. She also sewed for the Boston Ballet.
She was involved in Girl Scouting for many years, a charter member of The Discovery Club, Red Hat Society, and the Highland Light Scottish Society. She was a member of Clan Sinclair USA. She volunteered for the Dennis Police Dept., Bridge To Hope program and the Dennis Senior Center which she enjoyed very much. The Fun Day Monday senior group was a great experience. She was an active member of the Cape Cod Covenant Church in Brewster.
Elizabeth is survived by many friends and her loving son, Thomas and his wife Kate of North Andover, and three loving daughters: Martha and her husband Thomas of Brewster, Alice of Brewster, and Judith and her husband Charles of Sellersville, PA. She was predeceased by her former husband Donald Newcomb. She loved spending time at her favorite spot, Paines Creek beach in Brewster, with her six grandchildren: Andy, Zachary, Katherine, Jeffrey, Matthew and Lesley who is now married to Eric and has a son, Theodore.
Visiting hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 28 at Doane Beal & Ames, 729 Route 134, South Dennis. A Memorial Service and Reception will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29 at the Cape Cod Covenant Church, 11 Satucket Rd., Brewster. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers Elizabeth asked that donations be made to the charity of one’s choice. The Newcomb family would like to express gratitude to the wonderful staff at Epoch and Hope Hospice for their compassionate care of Elizabeth in her final days.
