Ellen M. (Hayes) Nashawaty, 76, of Dennis, Massachusetts, formally of Stoughton, passed away on 28 August 2023. She was born to parents John Hayes and Arlene (Pond) Hayes, on 30 July 1947 in Norwood, Massachusetts.
Ellen was a 1965 graduate of Westwood High School. After graduation, Ellen became a Flight Attendant with Northeast Airlines. Ellen continued her career as an Executive Administrative Assistant with Horizon Beverage until she retired in May 2008.
In 1965 Ellen met her future husband, Tom Nashawaty. Ellen and Tom married on July 20, 1968, and were blessed with 2 children Jeff and Shannon.
Ellen and Tom made Stoughton their home for over 35 years until they permanently moved to Dennis on the Cape. Ellen had a love for the game of golf and played any chance she got. She also loved the beach and traveling. She had made many wonderful memories with family and friends during all her adventures.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Tom, her 2 children, Jeffrey Nashawaty and his wife Kim (Burke) of Stoughton, Ma. and Shannon (Nashawaty) Cobb and her husband Matthew of Plymouth, Ma. She is also survived by her grandchildren – Haley (Cobb) Nayak and her husband Ankit, Madelyn Cobb, Samantha Cobb, Nicolas Nashawaty, Benjamin Nashawaty and Janelle Nashawaty as well as her brothers John Hayes and wife Jean of Walpole and Richard Hayes and wife Kathy of Walpole and many nieces and nephews. Ellen was predeceased by her sister Carole (Hayes) McDonald.
Visiting hours will be at the Doane, Beal, & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis, MA on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Cape Catholic Church, 468 Stony Brook Rd., Brewster. Burial will take place at 2 PM in the New Westwood Cemetery, Westwood, MA.
