

Born on April 27, 1937, in Worcester, he was the son of Theresa and Francis Quinn.
He leaves behind his remarkable and devoted wife of 55 years, Eileen C. Quinn; two daughters, Maureen Quinn-Donovan of Mansfield and Kathleen King of Allenstown, N.H., along with their husbands Jim Donovan and Tim King; a grandson, Ryan Donovan, who he was especially proud of; a nephew, Kevin Woodward and his wife Laurie, and their two children, Paige and Lilly.
Fran graduated from Worcester Junior College, Clark University with a BSBA and completed studies at the former School of Industrial Relations at the College of the Holy Cross. Prior to retirement, Fran lived in Auburn for 33 years. While there, he served as an elected town meeting member for 25 years. He was a member of the Auburn Rotary Club for 23 years and served as its president. He was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award.
Since relocating to Cape Cod in 2000, he was an active member in the Academy for Lifelong Learning and served as president of the Board of Directors. The Academy always brought him great joy. He was an avid reader and golfer, and member of the Dennis Pines and Highlands courses. Fran was a proud member of the Cape Cod Retired Men's Club. Fran also enjoyed walking the many beautiful Dennis beaches and especially relished time spent with his family. Fran succumbed to a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. His family is very grateful to Dr. Dan Arnold and his wonderful staff for the compassionate care shown throughout his illness.
A celebration of Fran's life will be held at 11 a.m., Oct. 25, 2016, at Our Lady of The Cape, 468 Stony Brook Road, Brewster. Fran's friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 24, 2016, at Doane, Beal, and Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis. Burial will be on Oct. 26, 2016, at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester.
