Gail Patricia O'Brien

March 23, 1952 – May 20, 2025
Obituary of Gail Patricia O'Brien
IN THE CARE OF

Doane Beal & Ames

Gail P. (Cimato) O’Brien, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and gifted designer, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025.

Gail is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Robert O’Brien of Dennis, Massachusetts; her three loving daughters, Rita O’Brien of Portland, Oregon; Courtney O’Brien, husband Glenn Grimwood and their beautiful daughters, Evelyn (Evy) and Rosalyn (Rosy), of McDonough, Georgia; and Kristy O’Brien of Chicago, Illinois; her brother Carlo Cimato and wife Nancy of Worcester, Massachusetts; and sister Karen Stone and husband Leonard of Cary, North Carolina; as well as many cousins and friends.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts to her late parents Carlo and Virginia (Mathews) Cimato, Gail’s creative spirit and sense of adventure took her to many places throughout her life. She earned a certificate in design from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), launching a successful career in fashion and interior design. Her artistry and eye for beauty touched countless lives and homes in the many places she lived—Prospect, Kentucky; Jonesboro, Georgia; Geneva, Illinois; and for the past 21 years, Dennis, Massachusetts. Most recently, Gail’s creative spirit transformed spaces as a home stager with Property Cape Cod Real Estate, where her professional connections quickly led to deep, personal bonds.

Gail loved to tend to her beautiful yard and garden creating a sanctuary for all who visited. She was the perfect balance of energy and calm, making everyone around her feel protected and loved. Above all else, Gail found her greatest joy in being a mother to her daughters and “Gigi” to her granddaughters. Her warmth, style, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Though taken far too soon, Gail’s presence will forever be felt in every thoughtful detail, every splash of color, and every clear blue sky. Her love lives on in the family she adored and the beauty she created in the world around her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Gail’s memory to a charity close to your heart.
