April 3, 1947 – April 25, 2020
East Dennis – Gwain Derek Cornish, 73, passed away on April 25, 2020. He was the cherished husband of the late Wendy Ann Cornish (2019) for close to 42 years.
Born to Lloyd and Ilene Cornish in Ontario, Canada, Gwain attended the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo. He worked as the senior Vice President at Royal Group Technologies and served on their board of directors.
Gwain and Wendy had their first date on March 22, 1976, and he knew he was in love for the first time. He was a golf fanatic and would probably golf everyday if it weren’t for wanting to spend most of his time with Wendy. He loved to boat on Cape Cod Bay and looked forward to his daily walks around the “neck” with Wendy, Harley and Spunky. One of his favorite things was breakfast. Not just any breakfast though. He loved going to Grumpy’s and it was a morning gathering place when his kids and grandkids were in town as well. Gwain and Wendy were the kindest, most generous people to know and hopefully, you had the privilege of meeting them.
Gwain is survived and will be deeply missed by his two children, Robert Cornish (Renee) and Kristi Jacques; his cherished beloved grandchildren, Tatum and Mason Collins, Landon Jacques, and Pierce, Abigail, and Rowan Cornish; and, his sister Leigh Cornish and brother Brian Cornish.
Due to the current health crisis, a gathering to celebrate Gwain’s life will be held in the future. For online condolences, please visit www.doanebealamesdennis.com

I met Gwain through my husband, Joe who had the pleasure of playing golf with him at the Pines and in walks around the Neck.
We live in Doylestown, PA, but have a summer home on Stephen Phillips.
We met you , Kristi, and your mom and dad and your sweet children at Grumpy’s last summer and had such a nice conversation with them. Your mother and dad were such vibrant, beautiful people. We will miss them. With our deepest sympathy.

Dear Kristi, Robert, and Family.
Your Dad was a great friend to me. His honesty, decency, integrity, and optimism were characteristics that made everyone around him a better person. We shared many enjoyable golf games, dinners, and golf store cruisings. It didn't matter if it was Troon or Dennis Pines, a Morton's or Chompie's in Scottsdale. There was always fun and friendship. I will truly miss him. My sincere condolences to you and all the family. Paul Rodrigues

Kristi, Rob and family,
We were so sad to hear about the passing of Gwain. Like your Mum it is much to soon. I have to say that in our memory of your dad he was always very positive, hardworking, generous and loved your mum and his children. I’m sure he was a loving grandpa as well! One of the first things I thought of was Wendy and him will be together again....xo
Our deepest condolences....much love
