on July 5, 1925, in Boston, MA, to John and Elsie (Skov) Terp. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 63
years, Barbara (Smith).
Harry graduated from Brighton High School then served in the Navy during World War II on USS ATA 178
in the South Pacific. Upon discharge, Harry then worked for John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston
for about 40 years. He was a long time member of Hill Memorial Baptist Church in Allston, and served on
many committees. He and his wife retired to Cape Cod in 1995. On the Cape, he was a member of
Brewster Baptist Church. Harry was an avid sports fan and loved the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed playing
softball, bowling, and horseshoes. Harry cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Harry is survived by his 5 children- David Terp and wife Karen of Rochester, NY; Jean Terp of Millis, MA;
Beverly Hopkins of South Dennis, MA; Nancy Terp Elderd and husband George of Wilmington, MA; and
Stephen Terp and wife Laurie of Walpole, MA. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren,
and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and service will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Doane, Beal & Ames, 729 Route 134, S. Dennis, MA 02660. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, S. Dennis, MA.
