
Helen is survived by her devoted husband of 66+ years, Robert Reynolds Boyd, two sons, one daughter, four daughter-in-laws, two sisters, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son and one brother.
At 62 years of age, Helen retired from employment as a school psychologist/guidance counselor from the public school system in Avon, CT. Prior to her time in Avon, she taught for many years in the West Springfield, MA public school system.
After her retirement, Helen enjoyed an active life; golfing at Captains Golf Course in Brewster, MA, and participating in the Manatee County Ladies Golf Association at the River Run Golf Course in Bradenton, FL. Early into her retirement, she became a talented rug maker, winning 1st prize at the Eastern States Exposition. For many years Helen also volunteered at the Sea Captain’s thrift store, run by the Friends of Brewster Elders. Helen enjoyed going on vacations and would snowbird between homes in Bradenton, FL and Brewster, MA. She spent many hours doing her crossword puzzles, playing scrabble and cards with her family and enjoyed spending time with her friends.
