He returned from the war with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He had many thriving business ventures and prior to retiring he owned The Swan River Flea Market in Dennis, MA. He was extremely successful due to his amazing work ethic, strong common sense and many talents.
He leaves his loving wife of 35 years Angelina (Kontaxis) Contonio; 4 children, Debbie Guiney and her husband John of Holden, Jack Contonio and his wife Linda of Yarmouthport, Paula Wilson and her husband Doug of Paxton and Rick Contonio and his wife Susan of Holden; 4 grandchildren, Jamie, Ashley, Abigail and Christopher; 4 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces; he was predeceased by 7 brothers and 4 sisters.
Jim had a passion for life. He enjoyed golf, fixing anything that was broken and spending time in Florida, but most of all he enjoyed time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prior to his death he took great pride in being a member of the VFW Post 10274 and taking part in annual fundraising.
