For 41 wonderful years, she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Gagnon. Upon retirement, then settled in Yarmouth Port, where Janet resided for 37 years.
She is survived by her children Karen Gagnon-Fitzgerald and her husband Jim of Attleboro and Kenneth Gagnon of Natick. Janet “Nonnie” was also a grandmother and great grandmother to her adored Nicholas Fitzgerald, Kara Birch, Joseph and Jayden Gagnon, great grandchildren Fallyn and Maeve Fitzgerald, Brady and Cecelia Birch.
Janet was a graduate of Boston University and was proud to be a BU alum. She worked as secretary to the commissioner of Veteran services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
She was an avid golfer and belonged to several country clubs for over 40 years. A die heart Boston Red Sox fan whom rarely missed watching a game.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 9:30am-10:30am at Doane, Beal and Ames, South Dennis. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11:00am at St Pius X Parish, South Yarmouth. Burial services will be private.
