John F. Carey

CAREY, John F. “Jack”, of South Dennis, formerly of Bolton, CT passed away peacefully on February 28, 2014. His laughter will be missed. He was the loving husband of Kerry I. (Moynihan) Carey, adoring father of Kristin A. Carey of Harwich, and Maegan V. Storey and her husband, Stephen, of Chatham. He was also an incredibly loving "Papa" to his granddaughter Georgia M. Storey. He is survived also by his brothers Thomas Carey of Watertown, and William Carey of Orleans as well as many nieces and nephews.

Born in Boston, John graduated from Assumption Preparatory in Worcester in 1964 and Boston College in 1968. John worked for many years in financial services at the Travelers in Hartford, CT and later at CitiGroup. He loved to cook, loved boating and fishing out of Sesuit Harbor, his family, and especially golf. In his retirement, he could be seen “speeding up the play” at Dennis Pines as a ranger.

A Memorial Mass will be held in his honor on Thursday, March 6, at Our Lady of the Cape, Rt. 6A, Brewster. Calling hours will be Wed, March 5, from 4 – 7 PM at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rt. 134, South Dennis, MA.
