
John B. Malloy of Dennis died on April 14, 2011 at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital of Sandwich. He was 82 years old. He is survived by loving wife Nancy (Roberts) Malloy, son Philip Malloy and his wife Susan, daughter Beth Frederick and her husband David, and grandchildren Meghan and Noelle Frederick and Aileen and Matthew Malloy he also leaves two sisters; Patricia Sagan and Margaret Gnadt both of ILL
John was born and raised in Chicago by the late Clara (Trossen) and John Edward Malloy. He earned an MS from MIT and an MBA from the University of Chicago. In 1949 he met Nancy, and they were married 58 years. He spent his whole career in Chicago at Amoco as a chemical engineer and later a financial analyst. He retired to Dennis in 1991 where he held many positions in the Friends of the Dennis Library, and also authored three books on investing. He loved the music of Irish tenor John McCormack, barbershop quartets, statistics, exercising his dry wit, ice cream, and breakfast with the Romeos every Monday morning.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Friends of the Dennis Public Library, P.O. Box 25, S. Dennis 02660.
