Mr. Dinnan was my 6th grade teacher at Roxbury School (57 years ago). I would venture to guess that Mr. Dinnan remembered each and every one of his students over the years. Once Mr. Dinnan told me that I was his first phi beta kappa student. It made me so happy and proud. I told him he that he was my #1 best and favorite teacher. He smiled. Mr. Dinnan was a blessing. May he rest in peace.

I was one of the lucky kids at Roxbury School - a fantastic school in its heyday - who had Mr. Dinnan not only for 4th grade, but also for 6th grade! What luck! He was absolutely my favorite elementary school teacher. He was honest and fair and happy. He was fun to be around and I loved going to school because of him. Thank you Mr. Dinnan. I know the other kids at Roxbury loved you too! Big hug wherever you are.

In 1988 I was seeking a position as a teacher at Roxbury School in Stamford, CT. Joe remembered me when I subbed for one of the teachers at the school and really recommended me for the position. I will always remember him for his wit, charm and being an advocate for teachers.
He will be missed but I know he's in heaven with his beloved wife, Lois. May he rest in eternal peace.
