Josephine K. Frangiamore

March 18, 1920April 10, 2019

Josephine K. (Guarnera) Frangiamore, 99, of South Dennis, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of Peter Frangiamore for almost seventy-seven years.

One of seven children, Josephine was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts by her late parents Giovanni and Carmella (Romeo) Guarnera. Her husband Peter also grew up in Springfield where they raised their family before moving to Bridgewater, and later to Cape Cod where they have resided for 42 years.

Josephine was an active parishioner of Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and Martha’s Ministry, but what she looked forward to the most was her Wednesday volunteer work at the church Thrift Shop. She loved to chat with the customers and truly enjoyed her co-workers.

One of her greatest passions was shopping, but she also liked to sew and knit and read. She loved to sing and played the piano by ear. Above all else, Josephine enjoyed spending time with her family, she loved her grandchildren and cherished the visits from her great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Peter, she is survived by her daughters Ellen (Jim) Colburn of Merrimac and June (William) Casey of South Yarmouth; her four grandchildren Gregory (Kerry) Colburn, Philip (Jacqueline) Colburn, Erin (Michael) Beattie and Patrick (Kelly) Casey and her six great-grandchildren Hayley Colburn, Samuel Colburn, Jack Colburn, Evan Colburn, Sebastian Beattie and Isabel Beattie.

May you rest in piece Jo. Many fond memories growing up as a child across the street from the Frangiamores. Best memory has to be the 1970's silver Christmas trees we both had in the picture windows. I would always try and synchronize the color wheel to match yours. You and Peter were there for family during the death of our dad and always looked out for us. God has received a true Angel.

To Peter, Ellen, Jim, June and Bill,
We remember all of you with love! So sad about Jo’s death but very happy to know she had such a wonderful large family.
We loved having you as neighbors in Bridgewater. We remember going in to Mass General to visit Pete after his open heart surgery all those years ago! He and Bill used to commute together into Boston. And Jo came to babysit Billy ( now 51!) and TJ (now 48!) when I went to the hospital to have Chad (46 on May 11,2019.
Jo taught me to make Italian spaghetti sauce and meatballs and lasagna, and I follow those recipes to this day with rave reviews from family and friends!
May Jo Rest In Peace and may all of you keep her in your hearts forever.
Love, Ruthie and Bill LaBonte

Aunty Jo, you will always be remembered for being a kind, compassionate and sharing person. I shall always remember the little car trips as well as the picnics and holidays we all spent together. You were always full of fun and looked at the bright side of life.

You will always be in my thoughts and prayers, your work is done, may you enjoy your deserved eternal rest.
