He was born on January 25, 1938 in Cloquet, Minnesota, the youngest of 8 children. Ken grew up in Cloquet and graduated from Cloquet High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Business & Economics from The University of Minnesota, Duluth. He served in the United States Army.
Ken was an executive with Equitable Insurance Co. in New York City until his retirement in 1986.
Ken and his wife, Karen, relocated to Brewster from Stamford CT in 1999. He loved golf and was a member of The Captains Golf Course in Brewster for many years. He was also a master woodworker, loved following the stock market and cheering on his two favorite teams, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
Ken is survived by his wife, Karen, his sister Bernice Denzler, and his brother Jim Matlock (Delores) and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Antoinette Matlock, brothers: Leonard Matlock, Lawrence Matlock, and Bernard Matlock, and sisters: Margaret Klejwa and Eleanor Aho.
Burial will be private.
