Louis R. Visco, (Louie) 85, of Yarmouth Port, Passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on August 9, 2026. He was born in 1941 in Brighton, MA, to his parents Louis D. and Domenica (Signore) Visco.
After high-school, Louie joined the U.S. Army and served for 3 years. He went on to become a proud Watertown Firefighter for 29 years and a mason contractor. He was a hardworking man who took pride in what he did.
Louis was a man who loved people. Social, friendly, and always ready for a conversation. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and connected. He was the kind of person who would stop to talk, lend a helping hand, or simply make someone laugh. He helped so many people throughout his life without ever expecting anything in return. His generosity, dependability, and willingness to lend a hand touch countless lives.
When he wasn't working or helping someone, you could often find him enjoying the things he loved most -- golfing, playing and refereeing bocce, fishing, working on his crossword reference book, playing cards and spending time with his friends and family. He hated the cold and especially looked forward to the winter months when he could head to Florida and enjoy the warmth.
He loved to make people laugh, and one of his favorite ways was talking like Donald Duck - a silly and unforgettable part of his personality that brought smiles and laughter to those around him.
He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and countless people who were fortunate enough to know him. His laughter stories, generosity, friendship and unmistakable personality will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda; his sons David Visco (his wife Barbara) and Brian Visco; his stepson Peter Starvaggi (his wife Jessica); his grandchildren Brian, Mariah, Laura and Hadley; his sister Elizabeth Destino; and his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 18 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM with a prayer service to follow from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rt-134, South Dennis, MA. A private burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA
