Mary Judith DaRonco

East Dennis – Mary “Judy” DaRonco, age 73, formerly of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2011 surrounded by her family.

Judy was born on January 8, 1938 to the late Mary and John Sweeney Sr. in the Bronx, NY. She grew up in Yonkers, NY and vacationed summers in Yorktown Heights until the family moved there permanently. Judy graduated with the Yorktown high School Class of 1955 staying connected with her many friends and classmates during reunions and via email. She graduated from Nasson College in Springvale, Maine with a degree in Nutrition and completed her internship at Greenwich Hospital in CT. After raising her three children, Judy worked in a variety of professional jobs at companies throughout Westchester, NY. She loved gardening and was a member of the East Dennis Garden Club, Our Lady of the Cape Ladies Guild, Computers for seniors and Our Lady of the Cape church. Most of all, she loved sitting on her farmer’s porch watching the birds and looking at her gardens and trees.

She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart of 50 ½ years, Thomas Richard DaRonco. She is also survived by her children: Michael and his wife Magdeline and grandchildren Justin and Gabrielle of Hackettstown, NY; Laura DaRonco of Montclair, NJ; and James DaRonco and his wife Leslie and grandchildren Pilar and Lochlan of Germantown, TN. In addition to her children, she is survived by her brothers John Sweeney and Robert Sweeney, and sister Virginia Berns and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be_Sunday June 12th_from_4:00 pm – 7:00pm at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home at 729 Route 134, South Dennis. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday June 12, 2011 at Our Lady of the Cape Church 482 Stony Brook Road, Brewster, MA.
