Michael proudly served in the United States Navy aboard both the USS Essex CV-9 and the USS Lake Champlain CVS-39. One of Michael’s fondest memories while serving in the US Navy was being a part of the USS Lake Champlain’s 1965 recovery of the Gemini GT-5 spacecraft, standing watch over the Gemini V, and meeting Astronaut L. Following the Navy, Michael worked in carpentry, as an auto mechanic at various dealerships, and the Dennis Mobile gas station, which he later purchased with his family. Michael enjoyed the outdoors, including camping, hunting, and regularly fishing. As well, Michael thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
