She was born to the late Lillian and Richard LeCour, July 5, 1934, in Worcester, MA. Nancy graduated from High School in Marblehead MA, and received a BA in History from the University of Massachusetts in 1956. She received her Master’s Degree in education from Bridgewater State College in 1977.
Nancy married William W. Cannon on December 26, 1955 and moved to Holbrook, MA, then Abington MA, before relocating to Brewster in 2005.
Nancy was a special education teacher for many years, before “retiring” to her second career of research librarian in Abington. During her actual retirement in Brewster, she volunteered at the Brewster Ladies Library and the historical society. She was a Josephine at St. Joseph’s Parish in Holbrook. She was an active member of St. Bridget’s church in Abington, MA, and Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster, where for many years she appeared as Mrs. Claus opposite Bill’s Santa Claus for the Christmas Dinner. She loved sewing, reading, listening to music, traveling, looking at the moon and stars, ordering her favorite chicken alfredo at Stone L’Oven, and making lists.
Nancy is survived and deeply missed by her brother Richard LeCour and family, sister Margot Marino and family, husband Bill, six children and their spouses: Bill and Regina, Bruce and Pam, Suzanne and Rafael, David and Cheryl, James and Angela, and Megan and RJ, fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Nancy’s large and loving family is her great legacy. Anytime we look for her we see the best in us.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Cape Cod Alzheimer’s Family Support Center, 2095 Main St, Brewster, MA 02631.
