Nellie Florence Nelson

died on Friday, August 9, 2013.

Born on June 15, 1944, in Bangor, ME, Nellie was the daughter of the

late Harold and Dorothy (Wallace) Chipman.

She was a graduate of Barnstable High School. For 20 years, she

worked for Yankee Candle in Hyannis.

Nellie enjoyed knitting, yoga, and gardening; she loved her pets, and

any holiday was an opportunity for celebration. Above all, she

cherished the time spent with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Nellie was predeceased by her late

husband, Warren “Skip” Nelson; and siblings, Harold Chipman Jr.,

Phyllis Strout, Wallace Chipman, Ruth Kelley, Barbara Carter and

Virginia Ellis.

She is survived by her daughters, Heidi Nelson of Longmont, CO,

Christine Wolfe and her husband, Richard of South Dennis, MA; her

brother, Thomas Chipman of Sunnyvale, CA; her sister, V. Sally Chipman

of Dennis, MA; many nieces and nephews; and her cat, Mitty.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17th, from 2:00 –

4:00 PM at the Federated Church of Hyannis (Baldwin Hall) 320 Main St.

Hyannis, MA 02601.
