Patricia A. Buckley

Patricia A. (Blunt) Buckley of Hyannis, formerly of Brockton and South Dennis, MA, passed away peacefully at dawn Saturday May 19, 2018. Born in 1921 in Brockton, Pat was the daughter of Peter and Catherine (Sullivan) Blunt, youngest of 11 children.

Pat graduated from St. John’s High School in North Cambridge, and Regis College. Following graduation Pat worked for the Bell Telephone Company. Pat married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, John (Jack) in 1950. They spent the next 61 years together, setting an example of love and devotion the rest of us strive to follow. Pat was a woman of quiet strength, exceptional faith and love of all the goodness life gave her. In addition to raising her own kids, Pat spent many years working as a substitute elementary teacher in the Brockton school system, positively impacting many young lives.

Cherishing her memory are her children, Julie Donehue and her husband Jack of Scituate, Ellen Wolcott and her husband Tim of South Dennis, Jean Gilbertson and her husband Bob of North Grafton, Mary Twohig and her husband Paul of Hilton Head, SC, and John Buckley and his wife Deirdre of Wilmington, DE. Pat was predeceased by her husband Jack and youngest daughter, Katy, as well as her older siblings. She was the proud grandmother of Shannon, Kerry, Christine, Cathleen, Kailyn, Sean and Meghan, and a loving great-grandmother of a happily growing number.

Visiting hours will 4 to 7PM, Wednesday May 23, at Doane, Beale & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis, MA. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday May 24, at 10AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 246 Route 28 in West Harwich, MA.
