Dennisport - Our dear Pat passed away Thursday, November 23, 2018 following a period of declining health. She was the daughter of the late George H. and Marguerite (Lynch) Andrew, sister of the late Jeff Andrew and beloved wife of the late John M. “Jack” Doyle.
Born in Westfield, NJ, her family moved to Larchmont, NY and then White Plains, NY, where Pat graduated from New Rochelle High School. She went on to Green Mountain College in VT and then earned her nursing degree at Mass Memorial in Boston, MA.
In 1965, Pat and Jack made their home in Glen Rock, NJ. It was at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ where she would spend the majority of her nursing career as an RN. She also she spent several years as a proud member of the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps. and was also involved in, among other things, Cub Scouts, the Central School PTA and Twiggy League. Pat was always taking care of someone or something.
After retiring to Cape Cod in 1987, she took up gardening, golfing and travel with Jack, enjoyed painting, spent many years with the gals of her walking group, belonged to the West Dennis Garden Club (past President) and volunteered at the West Dennis Public Library.
First and foremost, Pat took care of her own. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her sons, John M. “Mick” Doyle of Dennisport, MA, Robert and his wife Janice (Muller) of Pittstown, NJ, and her daughter, Amy MacEachern and her husband Don of Marstons Mills, MA. She adored and is also survived by her dear grandchildren, Jennifer Doyle and her husband Mike Medina of Portland, ME, Julie Doyle of New York City and Ean MacPherson of South Dennis, MA. In her last few years, the light of “Gawa’s” life was her great granddaughter, Maddie MacPherson of South Dennis.
Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Tuesday, December 11 at 1 P.M. Please dress for weather – warm, casual attire is OK! She wouldn’t want it any other way.
As she was an avid reader, animal lover and overall caregiver, Pat’s memory would be best served with donations to the West Dennis Public Library, 260 Route 28, West Dennis, MA 02670, MSPCA Cape Cod, 1577 Falmouth Rd., Centerville, MA 02632 or HopeHealth, 765 Attucks Ln., Hyannis, MA 02601.
