Patricia J. Swain

Patricia J. Swain of East Dennis, MA peacefully passed on November 14th. She was 93. Patricia was born on June 28, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended Lycoming College, became a member of the drum& bugle corps, and after graduating moved to the Boston area. She went to work at National Company, which later became part of Hewlett-Packard, where she met and married Donald S. Swain. Moving to Reading, MA. She became a member of the League of Women voters, a census taker in Boston along with industry work. They retired to East Dennis in 1987. She became involved in the Ladies Aid and volunteered at the Jericho House and the then new Dennis senior center, driving and shopping for those who no longer could. She was an avid reader, quilter, bridge player and crossword puzzle pro, enjoying life on Cape Cod and traveling. She was pre deceased by her husband of 69 years and son Peter C. of N. Truro. She will be missed by son Thomas D. and wife Rizza of Haverhill, MA; daughter Janet P. of N. Egremont, MA; daughter-in-law Janet London of N. Truro; grandchildren Jonah and Zella of N. Truro, Amari McCarthy of Nantucket, Krystiana of Haverhill MA. and four great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held in the Spring.
