He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and brother, a loyal friend and colleague, and a proud veteran.
Born on December 1, 1947, in Pennsylvania to Marie Skinner Lomenzo and Peter Thomas Lomenzo. He was the eldest of eight, with seven younger sisters he cherished: Elaine, Elise, Janet, Christine, Joanne, Susan, and Monica.
Peter’s education led him to earn his bachelor’s degree from Providence College in Rhode Island and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
He served for four years in the U.S. Army, ascending to the rank of Captain. His time in the Army included a one-year tour in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. Like his father, he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for his courageous service.
Peter began his civilian career in advertising at Carnation and Great Western and later founded two advertising companies, HALO and Maverick. Once settled into life on Cape Cod, he served as Chairman of The Old King’s Highway Historic Committee for sixteen years.
He discovered his paramount professional passion as a real estate broker. In 2005, he founded Lomenzo Properties, paving the runway to his time as Broker Associate with Sotheby's International Realty in Dennis, honored repeatedly as a Cape Cod Agent of the Year.
He had a great love of music, golf, football, Tom Brady, the Special Olympics, poetry, and deep conversation.
Peter's legacy is marked by his ardent friendships, his commitment to service, a singular enthusiasm for work and play, and boundless energy that inspired everyone who met him.
He is survived by his wife, Kerry Barton, and her three children, Hunter, Kade and Ryder Schofield; his children, Margaret (Karl), Peter (Laurie), Molly and Thomas (Jordan); his grandchildren, Malcolm (Amanda), Duncan (fiancée Gretchen), Jared, Nicholas, and Katherine; and his great-grandson, Julian.
