Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rte.134, South Dennis, MA. A Funeral Mass in honor of Raymond will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6th at Our Lady of the Cape Church, 468 Stony Brook Rd, Brewster, MA, followed by burial at Brewster Memorial Cemetery, Rte. 134, Brewster, MA.
Mr. Marcell was born on Sept 22, 1934 in Newton Mass, a son of Frederick and Esther Marcell. He married Martha Anne Danko on November 9, 1968 whom he dearly loved and who has since passed. He is survived by his brother Robert Marcell, his wife Maureen Marcell and their daughter Alyson Marcell, sister Elaine Marcell and his two sons and their families, Dr. Michael R. Marcell and his wife Kelli Marcell and Stephen R. Marcell, his wife Rachel Marcell and their son Dylan Marcell.
Mr. Marcell attended Newton High School and excelled in sports and was captain of his football, baseball and hockey teams. He went on to attend Baldwin Wallace college in Ohio where he graduated with a degree in business administration and finance.
After college Mr. Marcell enlisted in the Army where he served as a tank commander in Fort Knox KY. After leaving the army he married and moved to Cape Cod where he worked as a guidance counselor at Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School, he was later the director of Guidance for the Cape and Islands. He enjoyed his career and helped shape the futures of many students during his time at Upper Cape Cod Regional Tech. In addition to his teaching career he dabbled in real estate investment around Cape Cod.
He enjoyed baseball, sailing, golf with his friends and time with his family and grandson Dylan. He will be fondly remembered and loved by those who knew him.
