Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann (Lambton) Aboody, his four children, Heather Aboody Williams and her husband Craig of South Yarmouth, Alison Aboody Hughes and her partner Mike Foster of Dracut, Matthew Aboody and his wife Taylor of South Dennis, and Nanci Murray DeSantis of Northport, New York; a sister Charlotte Stockhaus formally of Millbury; seven grandchildren John & Eva DeSantis, Ryan, Elizabeth and Catherine Hughes, Nicolas Williams, and Stella Grace Aboody; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He is predeceased by two sisters, Nazley Abraham and Ruth Welsh, and five brothers, Joseph Arraje, Phillip Arraje, George Aboody, Rt. Reverend Charles Aboody, and Nicholas Aboody. Bob was born in Worcester, one of nine children of Salem and Rose (Halal) Aboody. He was born and raised on Grafton Hill.
Family was the most important part of his life. Growing up on Grafton Hill with his siblings and cousins, Bobby spent his youth working at the El Morocco. He loved to sing and play the Doumbek. In 1969, Bob and Ann moved to Cape Cod where he began his 45-year career as an electrician, a trade he was so proud to pass down to his son Matthew. In his spare time, he loved to travel and spend time in Worcester and California with his family, visiting his brother Fr. Charles, and trips to Canada to visit Ann’s family. His greatest joy was being Jiddu. He lived to spend time with his grandchildren from digging in the sandbox to pushing the kids in the backyard swings and at John Kelly to mini golf outings at Holiday Hill and the annual trips to the Wellfleet Drive-In.
Calling hours will be Saturday, December 16th from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Dignity Memorial 729 MA-134, South Dennis, MA. followed by a procession to Holy Trinity Church, 246 Main Street, West Harwich where his funeral service will be celebrated at noon. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Dennis.
