Robert C. Barry
April 9, 1956 – January 6, 2019
Robert C. Barry, 62, of Yarmouthport, MA, lost his short yet valiantly fought battle with cancer on January 6th, 2019. He was born in Woburn, MA on April 9th 1956 to John and Mary Barry. He grew up in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School, and then went on to graduate from Fisher College. Robert was a veteran of the United States Airforce.
Bob, as he was most well known, spent his life as a devoted family man. He married his beloved wife Trudy on July 25th 1980 and was a proud father of three children; April, Edward, and Robert as well as a loving grandfather of six. He loved spending time with his family, having cookouts and dinners together, going fishing and boating, laughing with his kids, helping his grandkids learn to fix things, and just spending time together with his wife Trudy, the light of his life. They enjoyed vacationing in Maine for their anniversary and found a way to turn what seemed like the most simple moments into great memories full of love. Bob was a loved and respected maintenance technician for the Dennis Police Department for the past 18 years. Bob always greeted everyone with a smile, no matter what kind of day he was having. His genuine love of life and his connection to people was felt in the hearts of anyone who knew him. He could make everyone laugh on their worst of days and was the first one to offer a helping hand for any problem. Never one to shy away from work, he would take on any job and always find a way to smile and make the best of it. He will always be remembered as a kind and caring man full of love and laughs who was a hard worker and dedicated to his family and never wasted a chance to make another person smile. He will be greatly missed.
Robert is survived by his wife Gertrude ‘Trudy’ (Lucien) Barry of Yarmouthport; his children, daughter April Muise of Yarmouth, son Edward Dahlgren of Yarmouth, and daughter in law Amanda McGilvray of Woburn; and his grandchildren James, Eddy, Natalie, Shayne, Robbie, and Brandon. He is also survived by his siblings; brother James Barry and his wife Lorraine of North Reading MA, sister Barbara Barry of Maryville TN and brother Kenneth Barry and his wife Kim of Ashby MA. As well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
Robert is predeceased by his son Robert J Barry; his parents, John F Barry and Mary F (MacIssac) Barry; and his sister Joanie Barry.

To Bob’s family-
I am so very sorry for your profound loss. I worked with Bob at Tedeschi‘s about 10 years ago. I always loved sharing a shift with him. He was so easy-going and always ready to laugh. I remember he always brought in the best dinners that Trudie had cooked for him with love.
Even recently my mom would go to Northside liquors and see him there and he would ask how I was doing. That’s just the kind of guy he was. God bless.

Bob taught me my jobs at both Tedeschi's and Northside Liquors. He was easily the best person to work with. Always smiling, joking and whistling (I'll miss that the most). Rest in peace, my friend.
