Robert W Barsch

Robert (Bob) William Barsch passed away on July 17, 2025. He was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by his late parents Robert and Ella (Brandt) Barsch. He was the husband of Linda (Hall) Barsch, with whom he was married for 60 years.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by his daughter Jeanette Blazier and her husband Devin of Flemington, New Jersey, and by granddaughters Danielle Blazier of Tampa, Florida and Allisyn Blazier of Flemington, New Jersey. He is predeceased by his son Robert Arthur Barsch.

Bob graduated from Milwaukee Washington High School in 1960 and earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in 1964. He married Linda that year and then attended Northwestern University where he earned his master’s degree in chemical engineering in 1966. After graduation, Bob began his career at Esso Research and Engineering in Florham Park, New Jersey in the planning and economics area. He transferred to Exxon International in 1970 where he remained until retirement. With Exxon International, he worked primarily in supply and transportation area, Tanker Operations with brief stays in cargo trading and aviation sales. His work location was primarily in Florham Park, New Jersey and New York City, but assignments took him and his family to Houston, Texas, the Netherlands and Belgium. He was employed by Exxon for 32 years and retired in 1997.

Upon retiring, he and Linda moved to their vacation home in Yarmouth Port on Cape Cod in Massachusetts where he enjoyed golf, fishing and boating. After nine years, they moved to Venice, Florida where he and Linda lived at, and were members of, the Venice Golf and Country Club. During their time in Venice, they spent winters in Florida and summers on Cape Cod in an antique house built in 1740 which they had restored. They moved back to Cape Cod full time in 2014 living in Dennis, East Dennis and Yarmouth Port.
