

Robert Fairchild Berg, 88, of South Dennis, Massachusetts, passed away on June 9, 2026. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on July 30, 1937, he was the son of Reginald and Olive Berg. He lived a long life marked by devotion to family, friendship, hard work, and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Bob will be remembered for his love of life and his determination to make the most of every day. He had a gift for connecting with people, a warm sense of humor, and an adventurous spirit that stayed with him throughout his life. Bob proudly served in the National Guard Reserve. He spent his career as a Tool and Die Manager at Schwerdtle Stamp Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut, followed by 25 years at the Nauset Lantern Shop on Cape Cod. He loved his second career on the Cape and cherished the many friendships he made there.
His early years were spent in Milford and Huntington, Connecticut. In 2001, Bob and his beloved wife, Mary, fulfilled their lifelong dream of moving to Cape Cod. They spent many happy years in their South Dennis home, enjoying the Cape's beautiful beaches, favorite restaurants, and countless gatherings with family and friends. Over the course of his life, Bob enjoyed boating, water skiing, snow skiing throughout New England and Colorado, traveling, tinkering, and caring for his beloved bulldog, Daisy. He was a longtime member of the Cape Cod Ski Club where he formed lasting friendships and shared many memorable adventures.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Susan Berg Brown and her husband, Phil, of Fairfield, Connecticut; his son, Robert A. Berg and his wife, Lynne of Erie, Colorado; his grandchildren, Dillon, Bryan, Kate, and Matthew, whom he was immensely proud of, and many relatives, friends, and co-workers who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Mary Berg, and his beloved granddaughter, Meghan.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals who offered kindness, companionship, and support throughout his life. A private celebration of life will be announced by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Long Island Bulldog Rescue in honor of Bob's love for his dog, Daisy. Bob will be remembered with love, gratitude, and affection by all whose lives he touched.
