Robert M. Kurisko, Sr., age 87 passed away peacefully on August 25th surrounded by his family at EPOCH of Brewster following a courageous battle with cancer. He retired to Brewster, Ma in 1990 from Cranford, N.J. and was born and raised in Dunmore, P.A. He was on of five brothers who served in World War II; he was a staff sergeant in the 513th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 17th Airborne Division which was absorbed by the 101st Airborne Division. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge where he was the recipient of two Bronze Stars, in addition to eight other citations.
While living in New Jersey he was employed by the Newark Star-Ledger newspaper for thirty eight years. The last twenty five years he was the supervisor of the production department. Roberts was a Communicant of Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster, Ma, served as a member of the Brewster Finance Committee for nine years, past President of the Polish Society of Cape Cod and the Islands.
Robert enjoyed his family, bowling, playing cards and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Trudi Kurisko, daughters Patricia and husband Tom Wojtacki of Greensboro, N.C., Jayne and husband John Linfante of Brielle, N.J. and son Robert M.Kurisko, Jr. and wife Kathy of Harwich. Grandchildren include Matthew and Sheryl Linfante of NJ, Holly Tavano and Robbi Kurisko of Harwich, Christopher and Timothy Marciante of E. Harwich and also survived by a Great Grandchild Chase Tavano. In addition several neices and nephews in Southern New York and Pennsylvania
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
