BREWSTER – Roger S. Everett, 88, died peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital surrounded by his family on Aug 9, 2014. Roger was the only son of Raymond and Gladys Everett and husband of the late Corinne Pitman Everett. Roger is survived by his loving daughters Cheryl Metters (Bill) and Marcia Nugent (Bud), grandchildren Jennifer Byrne (Kevin), Jessica Murray (Brian), Jonathan Nugent (Kristen) and Adrienne Nugent, and five great granddaughters, Ashley Hale, Kellie and Emma Byrne, Allison Woodward, and Abigail Nugent. Roger was born, grew up and spent most of his life in Mansfield, MA. Following his service in World War II, he worked as a financial controller at Texas Instruments in Attleboro, MA. He and Corinne built a summer home in Brewster in the 1960’s where they moved permanently in 1985. After retirement Roger launched his second career as a wildlife photographer on Cape Cod and beyond. His pictures continue to be enjoyed by many. Dad (Papa) will be missed by his family and by many friends from First Baptist Church of Mansfield and Brewster Baptist Church, along with fellow bird lovers he encountered in his days photographing and keeping watch for those rare sightings! A memorial service will be held at the Brewster Baptist Church on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at 12:30. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary or Brewster Baptist Church.
