
Ruth Albert (Hayden), 84, a retired Registered Nurse and longtime resident of Dennis port (formerly of Malden and Billerica), passed away peacefully on April 2, 2016. She was born on August 27, 1931. Ruth graduated from Nursing School in Boston. She spent much of her career as the Head Recovery Room Nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital. Later, she used her nursing skills to help residents of a local Cape Cod Nursing Home. She was very active in the community, volunteering as a camera operator and receptionist at Cape Cod Community Media Center (Channel 99). She was a life-long champion of animal rights and cared for many retired seeing-eye dogs through the years. She was an active member of Northside United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Fred Earl Albert in 2004, and her parents Eleanor and Roderick Hayden. She is survived by her niece Judith Bielecki and her husband David, of Newmarket, New Hampshire and her nephew, William E.L. Hayden and his wife Ayako Hayden, and grandnephew, Harrison Hayden of Woodinville, Washington. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on May 14th at Northside United Methodist Church in Brewster, MA. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the MSPCA in Ruth’s name.
