January 13, 1943September 14, 2019

Thomas Patrick Coyne, 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on September 14, 2019. Thomas was born on January 13, 1943 in Boston, MA to Owen and Ellen Coyne. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judith Mohan Coyne, along with his children; Christine Williams and her husband Keith, Michael Coyne and his wife Betsy, and Thomas Coyne, Jr. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren; Caroline, Emily, Ned, Grace, and Henry; and his siblings Nancy Crosby and her husband James, Gene Coyne and his wife Kathy, and Sheila Coyne.

Thomas grew up in Jamaica Plain and Milton, MA, and he and Judith raised their family in Medfield and Brewster, MA. Thomas attended Mission High School and is a 1965 graduate of Stonehill College. Thomas owned and managed the successful accounting practice Thomas P. Coyne, & Co. for 46 years where he was a trusted confidant and friend to his clients. Tom was a man of few words, with a dry wit and expertly timed sense of humor. He was an avid boater, golfer and sudoku player. He enjoyed family ping pong tournaments, card games and chess with his grandchildren, poker night with his Jamaica Plain pals, and his Friday night cocktail with his bride on the deck. He was compassionate and kind, and beloved by his family, friends and clients. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in gratitude to Brigham and Women’s Hospital to support the Cardiac Amyloidosis Program Fund. Tom and Judy were among the first to make Peggy and I feel welcome when we moved to Leland Road. We enjoyed hearing about the comings and goings of their children and grandchildren, and we especially enjoyed Tom’s dry humor. Tom was a faithful member of the Indian Waters Association who contributed his accounting expertise over many years, for which we are all very grateful. All of us will miss a wonderful neighbor.

Judy and family,

Sorry to hear about Tom’s passing. Our deepest condolences to you. The days of Chi-Rho and the poker evenings are all wonderful memories. We have been blessed with many great friends in our life time sharing lots of good times. Tom will be missed.
Tom was a great help in handling our family affairs upon my dad’s death and I greatly appreciated all his help.
God bless and he will be remembered in our prayers.

Dear Judy and Family, Julie and I have lost a cherished friend. I have been reliving all the many milestones that we shared. It started at Mission High with the six close friends Tom, Tom K, Charlie, Richie, Frank and I traveling back and forth from Milton/Dorchester to Norwood. The college years and Chi Rho. The weddings to our wonderful wives. The children years and especially summers at Cape Cod before the Brewster years. How many card games over the years. You loved the competition and friendly banter. The wonderful golf outings at Captain's with our dear driver Bobby Joe. In recent years the boat outings. Tom, there is a large missing piece in our hearts. You were the best of friends. We will miss you so very much. We can say that you accomplish much and were the best that you could be. Love and God Bless, Jack and Julie.

Barbara and I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to Judy, the children and the grandkids. We were blessed to know Tom & Judy and shared many a good time with them. Boating, golfing, snowmobiling and just sitting around sharing some laughs. I enjoyed Tom's sense of humor, he always snuck in a beauty particularly when we were busting Russell's chops. I know he enjoyed this sport!

We have fond memories.
