Born in Brockton to Alexander Malaspino and Adeline (Diauti) Malaspino, Honey was the youngest of ten children. After graduation from the Brockton public school system, she pursued several careers until finding her “niche” in real estate. She attended the LEC Institute where she honed the skills that would help her to become the unprecedented sales person that she was. For over fifty years, Honey set her mark in the real estate market. In the early 1970’s she was instrumental in the land development of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Working at the time with The McCullough Company, Honey escorted guided charter flights to the area to promote the progression of property sales. Prior to her retirement, she owned Marina Landing Realty in Dennis for nearly twenty years. She had a loyal following of home buyers and renters that returned again and again adding to her success as a business woman.
She was a past president of the PM Club of Brockton and a member of The Professional Women’s Club of Cape Cod, as well as many charitable organizations. Honey was a former member of the Cape Cod Board of Realtors and was an active Notary Public. Over many years, her contribution as a fundraiser helped raise much needed awareness to charities for challenged youth. She loved traveling and especially enjoyed her 70th birthday party at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas and her 75th birthday celebrated on the island of Mallorca in Spain, attended by many friends and family. Some of her favorite times were spent at her winter property in Hallandale Beach, Florida with her long time companion Edgar Wortmann of Ft. Lauderdale. Honey adored spending time with her friends, whether at a luncheon, over a game of backgammon, or a heated game of cards(her favorite pastime!). She was also an avid Red Sox fan and pet lover to her three dogs Schatzi, Harry and Pumpkin. The consummate hostess and cook, all who loved her will forever be grateful she wrote down her recipes and shared them. Honey’s ability to make everyone who entered her kitchen feel as if they were “at home” will stay in their hearts and bring comfort in her passing. Honey loved life and made the most of every day. She was an inspiration to those who knew her and set an example of how to be a good neighbor and a great friend.
