

William B. Smith, Jr., 87, of Dennis, died April 15, 2015 at a Boston Hospital from injuries sustained in a car accident. He was born October 21, 1927 in Baltimore, MD. Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years Jean D. Smith.
Bill had a deep love of his Catholic Faith which he passed on to his family both as a member of the Latin Mass parish at St. Francis Xavier in Hyannis and as a daily communicant in St. Pius X Parish in South Yarmouth. Bill was very proud of being a World War II Navy veteran serving in the Pacific for 2 years. He spent many years in dairy farming and property management. His interests included reading, religion, politics, sports old movies and war movies.
Bill was predeceased by his son and daughter-in-law, Vince and Pamela Smith. He is survived by four daughters: Rose Smith of Manchester, NH; Helen Tourigny (Arthur) of Mesa, Arizona; Therese Foy (Randy) of Dennis, MA and Frances McManus (Mark) of Endwell, NY and a brother Allen D. Smith (Joan) of Miami, FL. He is also survived by four grandchildren and six great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
A wake will be held Sunday, April 19th from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rt. 134, South Dennis, MA. A Traditional Latin Requiem Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20th at St. Francis Xavier, 347 South Street, Hyannis, MA. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter, 119 Griffin Road, Elmhurst Township, PA 18444.
