Barbara spent her younger years in Hatboro, PA, before moving with her parents and siblings to Southampton in 1961. She graduated from William Tennent High School in 1963. With a steady commitment to learning, she returned to further her education in the late 1970s at Bucks County Community College and continued to broaden her knowledge through adult evening classes in varied subjects over the years. An avid reader and devoted student of history, Barbara approached life with quiet attentiveness and enduring intellectual curiosity.
A horse lover from childhood, Barbara took riding lessons at several area barns throughout the years, and in 1977 she and her sister Debbie bought their own horse. Her care and regard for animals extended well beyond the barn. Barbara loved all animals and was a vegetarian most of her life. She especially adored German Shepherds, including the family dog, Lady, during her younger years, and she was a regular contributor to animal causes.
Barbara also held a special affection for Ocean City, New Jersey, where she spent many happy hours. She cherished time with family and always looked forward to holidays shared with her siblings, brother-in-law, nephew, and his family.
Professionally, Barbara spent many years in market research and later in retail. She was most recently employed at Walmart in Warminster, PA.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Bob, of Southampton; her sister, Debbie and her husband Bob, of Quakertown; and her nephew Wade, his wife Cheryl, and their sons, Wesley and Graham, of Perkasie.
She is predeceased by her parents, Robert Sr. and Anita Sillman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 1:00 pm, located at Hatboro Cemetery, 36 Fulmor Ave. Hatboro, PA 19040.
